Mr. President, Ladies and Gentlemen Senators, a subject I have discussed extensively with the population of my State of Rondônia is the issue of infrastructure.
Brazil is a giant within its borders, with extraordinary production capacity.
My State of Rondônia is a state that produces food, that supplies part of Brazil's demand and that has very strong exports, both of our animal protein from our livestock sector and of our agricultural products — soybeans, corn, coffee.
I have been traveling through the 52 municipalities of the State of Rondônia...
Rondônia currently has about 6,000 kilometers of state highways, Senator Girão.
Of those 6,000 kilometers of roads, only 1,500 kilometers are paved, and 4,500 kilometers are dirt roads, muddy when it rains, with dust and potholes in the dry season, making life difficult for those who work and produce in my state.
