Sérgio Moro: I presented a first amendment to maintain the current text and a second amendment to preserve the current rules, at least with respect to those most serious crimes, and that amendment was accepted by the Rapporteur, Senator Marcelo Castro, after a great effort of persuasion made by me, but equally by my peers, among them here Senator Esperidião Amin.
What we set down in this amendment is the maintenance of the current rule for the most serious crimes.
Sérgio Moro: Anyone convicted, for example, of drug trafficking, of participating in a criminal organization, or of committing crimes against the public administration, among them corruption and embezzlement, will be ineligible for a period of eight years after the completion of the sentence.
Sérgio Moro: The proposal that was being advanced was that these eight years would count from the conviction.
