Rodrigo Pacheco: And another point, President Davi Alcolumbre, also very relevant, is the occasion of these two nominations to the STJ (Superior Court of Justice): the recent meeting we had with President Antonio Herman Benjamin, of the STJ (Superior Court of Justice), about something that was conceived in the National Congress regarding legal relevance, which was inserted into the Federal Constitution as a requirement for special appeals.
Rodrigo Pacheco: What is still missing is the regulation through a law that can, I repeat, regulate this constitutional command, which was inserted into the constitutional amendment at the time of the Presidency of Minister Humberto Martins.
Therefore, I would like to urge the entire Plenary of the Federal Senate, the Constitution and Justice Committee, chaired by our dear Senator Otto Alencar, and Your Excellency, that we dedicate ourselves, in this second semester, to legislation that can define the rules for determining the legal relevance of theses that may reach the STJ (Superior Court of Justice), because this will be fundamental to reducing the workload of the ministers of the STJ (Superior Court of Justice), while also reconciling the interests of the legal profession, given that we are in deep dialogue with the OAB, so that there will be, if not unanimous, then majority support for this legislative proposal, which will confer relevance within the STJ (Superior Court of Justice).
