Tabata Amaral: Paternity leave is a right of the father, yes, but it is also a right of the mother, who becomes overburdened, and it is a right of the child, who deserves the opportunity to build that bond with the father.
Tabata Amaral: And we are taking a historic step. Since the Constituent Assembly, 35 years ago, Congress has not regulated paternity leave, and today, under the leadership of President Hugo Motta and our Leader Jack Rocha, with the support of many male and female parliamentarians, we have achieved an important advance.
Family is the most relevant structure of any society, and we know that the financial impact of this project is small, less than 0.05% of GDP.
Tabata Amaral: Mr. President, considering the favorable impact this will have on the mental health of fathers and mothers, on the strengthening of these families, so that, in fact, society respects families and truly embraces this dignity — those initial days of early childhood — we need to vote on this bill and give this response to society.
