Paternity leave is a right of the father, yes, but it is also a right of the mother, who becomes overburdened, and it is a right of the child, who deserves the opportunity to build that bond with the father.
Tabata Amaral: And we are taking a historic step. Since the Constituent Assembly, 35 years ago, Congress has not regulated paternity leave, and today, under the leadership of President Hugo Motta and our Leader Jack Rocha, with the support of many male and female parliamentarians, we have achieved an important advance.
Tabata Amaral: Family is the most relevant structure of any society, and we know that the financial impact of this project is small, less than 0.05% of GDP.
