Sérgio Moro: And we approved, if I may here, Article 2, through an amendment to Article 9 of Law No. 12,694, which makes clear: Article 9. In the face of a situation of risk arising from the exercise of the function, of judicial authorities or members of the Public Prosecutor's Office, whether active or not, including retirees, and of their family members, the fact shall be reported to the judicial police, which will assess the need, the institutional conditions before other police bodies, the scope and the parameters of criminal protection. ......................................................................................................................... § 5. Personal protection shall be provided to police officers, active or retired, and to their family members, in situations of risk arising from the exercise of the function, according to the assessment carried out by the judicial police or by the directing body of the respective police force.
Sérgio Moro: So we proposed it and it was approved without difficulty in this Senate Chamber.
That bill went to the Chamber of Deputies and has already been approved in the CCJ.
Sérgio Moro: Only the Plenary's deliberation remains. What we cannot do is lose this war.
