Sérgio Moro: And, suddenly, the cases that were underway, the investigations that were underway, even proceeding correctly in the first instances, were all taken to the STF (Supreme Federal Tribunal), based on an alleged prevention in the office of Minister Dias Toffoli, which did not exist — it was recently decided that it did not exist.
Sérgio Moro: The investigations remained, during that period, paralyzed. So there was a situation in which, gradually, that scandal was being set aside, away from the news, with the investigations paralyzed because of that procedural maneuvering.
At the same time, once the installation of the CPMI (Parliamentary Inquiry Commission) had been approved, there was a movement by the Government to control it, so that it would be a friendly CPMI, so that it would be a CPMI that would not advance deeply into these investigations.
Sérgio Moro: And, suddenly, the opposition, of which I am a part, did indeed secure the appointment of independent Rapporteur and Chair.
Sérgio Moro: Now there is hope that the facts can be properly investigated, regardless of whom it hurts, whether there are people from the previous government or from the current government, but let us point out here that the main suspicions fall on officials of the current administration, including those appointed by Lula, and that presidents of unions and associations that support the Government are likewise the main suspects of being the beneficiaries of this gigantic fraud.
