Sérgio Moro: Fortunately, Amendment 146, authored by me, was approved and safeguarded that very important law, the Ficha Limpa Law.
Sérgio Moro: This gives us some relief in the sense that the fight against and prevention of corruption are not entirely lost.
We know that this Lula government is absolutely hostile to preventing and combating corruption, illustrated by the fact that, from the outset, it moved against those moralizing provisions of the Ficha Limpa Law.
Sérgio Moro: Likewise, more recently we have seen the Lula government's lack of interest in promoting a serious investigation into the thefts from INSS retirees and pensioners.
Sérgio Moro: Today, on this matter, the Lula government suffered another defeat, because the opposition managed to elect the Chair and the Rapporteur of the CPMI of the INSS, Senator Carlos Viana and, in this case, Federal Deputy Alfredo Gaspar, who, by the way, is from União Brasil and has experience in investigation and in public security work.
