Marcos Rogério: In the past, we had, in the Lava Jato case, the annulment of the entire process for situations much less serious than those identified and denounced in the course of this January 8th process, but there the annulment was because the trial took place in the 13th Federal Court of Curitiba.
Marcos Rogério: There the investigation was into the crime of corruption, with the diversion of billions and billions of reais, with defendants who confessed the crimes, who were returning money and had turned in those who benefited from the scheme.
Even so, everything was annulled. Now, the allegation is made that in the course of those investigations extra-record procedures occurred, outside the record, arranging - arranging - what would determine who was released, freed, or who would be arrested or kept in custody, and there is no one to say that this is wrong.
Marcos Rogério: Here this allegation was made by the press. And here, from the rostrum of the Federal Senate and the Chamber of Deputies, it is also denounced — it reverberates constantly — but on the part of the institution itself, which should expunge and remove this type of practice by the control mechanisms the Court itself has, no initiative has yet been taken to eliminate the illegality.
