Marcos Rogério: The defense requested his release because he was accused in an inquiry that involves his son Eduardo, who would allegedly be acting in the United States against Brazilian institutions, against the Brazilian State.
Marcos Rogério: This gave rise to an inquiry and, in that inquiry, besides Eduardo and other people, President Bolsonaro was also accused.
And behold: the Public Ministry, as the holder of the criminal action, when proposing the opening of a public and unconditional criminal prosecution, does not charge former President Bolsonaro, because it did not find elements, because it did not find evidence, because the environment did not even allow him to have any influence over what was happening – and it would be very presumptuous to imagine otherwise.
Marcos Rogério: So, it does not indict him, it refrains from indicting him. But he was detained, albeit under house arrest, because of that inquiry.
Marcos Rogério: So, once there were no elements to indict him, the defense thought that his release, his liberation from custody, would be the most natural thing in the world.
