Kim Kataguiri: Mr. President, Members of the Chamber of Deputies, the bill, as set out in its summary, intends to protect against gender-based political violence.
But when you read the text, you see there are some jabutis in it, for example the inclusion of special protection and privileges, in reality, for leaders who will be placed above ordinary citizens.
Kim Kataguiri: So, leaders of human rights NGOs, party leaders, will receive special treatment from the police, often with guaranteed police escorts and attention from the Public Prosecutor's Office, more than an ordinary citizen.
Kim Kataguiri: Personally, I don't think there should be any legal privilege or special police protection or special attention from the Public Prosecutor for any representative, just because he is part of a human rights NGO.
