Flavio Bolsonaro: So it is, yes, Dr. Claudio Lottenberg, a shame to see Brazil with the current Government taking such a position.
Flavio Bolsonaro: It is inadmissible that this is happening. If it were President Bolsonaro, I am certain you would not put up with this shame, nor would the Jewish community here in our country, because we have always recognized — indeed, we were the first country to recognize — the State of Israel in 1948, at the UN General Assembly.
And the memory we have of those ties between Brazil and Israel includes the firefighters and rescue teams that Israel sent to Brazil to help us rescue the victims in Brumadinho in 2019, in Minas Gerais, and so many other examples in which Israel lends us technology and expertise.
Flavio Bolsonaro: And it is not fair to take the position the current Government takes, sending its Vice President, Geraldo Alckmin, to the inauguration of the dictator in Iran, a lamentable photo beside various terrorists, several of whom have even gone on to die, because they were reached by the forces of good that are the forces of Israel.
Flavio Bolsonaro: I speak here with full conviction, with no intention of currying favor with anyone; I only want to speak about what we believe and what we practice, because we on the right here in Brazil are also victims of these narratives, as if we had a discourse of hate, as if we wished harm on anyone, as if we did not respect human rights, when the opposite is true!
