Erika Hilton: Thank you, President. What a joy to have been selected to have 15 minutes and to be able to set out the issues in the plenary session, not having to speak hurriedly, rushed, scrambling to organize my thoughts at the last minute.
Erika Hilton: I could not begin my speech this afternoon without mentioning the important, historic, and exemplary trial currently taking place at the STF (Supreme Federal Tribunal).
We waited, for years, crying out every day for justice for Marielle Franco and Anderson, until their perpetrators were duly convicted.
Erika Hilton: Today, Brazil, democracy, defenders of human rights, Black women, the favela kids, LGBTQIA+ people, those who believe in Justice, receive this decision of the STF (Supreme Federal Tribunal) with joy.
Erika Hilton: We do not have the joy of having the comrade among us, doing, acting, building politics and defending a project of a plural Brazil, a project of a diverse Brazil, a project of Brazil that does not tolerate the execution of a woman for being who she is, for representing who she is.
