Today is a special day.
It is a day for all of us, human beings, to pay tribute to a very special person, who is our mother.
A mother is certainly the person who devotes the most love to another human being.
She is the one who brought us into the world.
She is the one who raised us best.
She is the one who rooted for us the most, who prayed the most, who cried the most, who worked the most so that we would become what we are today.
What is important is that we learn to value those people who have loved us our whole lives.
And, normally, the mother, among all human beings, is the person who devotes the most love, understanding, fraternity and affection.
Not only to her children, but to every human being.
So I would like to ask you, comrade and comrade, to dedicate this day to your mother.
If you are far from her, call her.
If you are near her, give her a hug and a kiss.
If you are nearby, treat your mother to lunch or dinner.
Because everything we do is very little compared to what our mother did for us.
It's been 40 years since I lost my mother.
And to this day I don't forget, because everything I am—my character, my upbringing—I owe to my mother, who made an immeasurable effort so that I would be the way I am.
And I'm sure that you owe your character, your education, your intelligence, your desire to be good to others to your mother.
Emulate your mother and be a complete human being.
Because the world needs a lot of affection, a lot of love, a lot of fraternity, a lot of solidarity.
And nothing represents that more than all that a mother does to raise her child.
