This is an official statement from my conscience.
Charlie Kirk died, a right-wing activist in the United States, and with him died the idea that a free debate between the right and the left can take place.
With him died the idea that you can go to a university, talk to someone you disagree with, and maybe hear harsh words, but never hear the sound of a gunshot.
With him died the idea that we, in our political camp, have to passively accept that they can use violence against us while we only have words.
No.
Enough.
Enough of putting up with being called an extremist as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
The press did that to his corpse.
Look, this is the news.
He's an extremist, so maybe it's justifiable for you to kill a guy like him.
Isn't that so?
This man left behind two daughters, two children.
No one is caring about those two children.
The left, the journalism, basically think deep down that they are perhaps products of some kind of Nazism.
Isn't that so?
That's what they feel.
Deep down, in practice, anything is justifiable against us.
And when I say 'we'... I'm not just talking about Renan, Partido Missão or Movimento Brasil Livre.
I'm even talking about people I don't like, like Nicolas, like Bolsonaro.
All of us, from our side, are targets of this hatred.
And as for us, look, we're hardly permitted anything.
If I make an inappropriate joke, I can be arrested.
Others can try to kill us and nothing happens.
During the formation of our political party, Missão, two of our signature-gatherers were the target of an assassination attempt by two militants — get this — antifascists.
The militants were caught.
They were arrested, they were detained.
More than that, pay attention, there was no human rights commission, the TSE didn't pursue it, given that they were linked to a political party, there was no speech defending democracy there.
There was the most absolute silence.
The same silence that happens when the MST invades a property, when the MTST invades a property, when students use violence to force other students to go to classes — after all, they strike with our money.
I don't want to accept that.
I don't want to remain in a passive position where one side can do everything and the other side can do nothing.
