And I came to see what appears to me to be the most advanced project in the area of ecological transformation in Brazil.
If I'm not mistaken, USP is leading, with private partnerships and public agencies, a cutting-edge research project to transform ethanol into hydrogen, which will make it possible to practically end pollution from motor vehicles.
Because the problem with the electric car is that you don't know how the electrical energy that charged the battery was produced.
And in the case of hydrogen, that's not the case.
If the hydrogen comes from ethanol, you know that carbon was captured in the planting of the sugarcane and that in the transformation to hydrogen the only residue you will have is water.
It produces an electric current and water.
Nothing purer, nothing cleaner than this technology.
I came here to make commitments to the university and to present the proposal for consideration by federal agencies.
I will enthusiastically advocate that this project be supported.
