Jair Bolsonaro, you left the army, began public life as a city councilor in Rio de Janeiro and then served seven terms as a federal deputy, always defending the people, never becoming involved in corruption scandals, a rare feat in Brazilian politics.
It was your consistency, honesty and courage that carried you, against all odds and against everyone, to the Presidency of the Republic.
And even there, in the presence of power, you never abandoned your simple roots.
It was on that path that I had the honor.

While other countries sank into debt and misery, Brazil stood firm.
I recall the day you were the victim of a cowardly stabbing in Juiz de Fora.
It should have been the end, but it was a miracle.
There was not only spilled blood there, there was the certainty that God still had and has
a greater purpose for your life and for our nation.
Because if God is for us, who can be against us?
Your suffering became hope for millions, and every tear shed that day was transformed into strength to keep fighting.
I know that not everyone needs to agree with your decisions, but to believe that you, a man of simple life, who left the army, built your path with sweat, who has always been close to the people and to your own family, deserve harsher sentences than actors and drug traffickers, is proof that many are completely alienated.
This is not justice.
This is political revenge.
Today we see ministers of the STF (Supreme Federal Tribunal) acting not as judges but as political adversaries.
A sham trial, a staged theater set up to condemn you for a coup that never existed.
The true injustice is not in what they accuse you of, but in what they deny the people.
The right to freely choose their leaders.
And the right to see the truth without a mask.
You played fair against a dirty system.
And this may have provoked the outrage of many, including our own.
But we know you are not in this situation solely because of your own fault.
but because you dared to confront those who live off lies and manipulation.
Of course you made mistakes, after all you are human, but your flaws can never be compared to the crimes of your adversaries.
There is not a single one against him who is any good.
All who condemn him are part of the same rotten arrangement that fears a simple man who dared to challenge the system.
And that is the difference between us and them.
We agree to disagree, to point out errors and failures, not out of a power project, but because we know exactly what you represent.
Mr. President, it is not over.
We will continue fighting for a better Brazil.
You have always shown humility and simplicity, even while serving as Head of State.
You were always that man who ate pastel at the market, who made jokes off-script, who cried and laughed together with the people.
