And we even asked you whether, in light of that decision by the Office of the Attorney General at the time, you would return to the United States; you said no, you wanted to remain there.

Before we get to today's case, I'd like you to give a brief summary from then until now—how your activities in the United States regarding the Brazilian political situation have been—so we can understand chronologically where we stand now, Deputy.
All right, I'll start by recapping here.

When President Trump was elected president of the United States, on November 5 of last year, news appeared in the press saying that ministers were joking about the possibility of losing their respective American visas to enter the United States.
Later on, there was this threat to seize my passport, right after American President Donald Trump made an honorable mention of me, my father and my family during the conservative event.

And I think that set off an alarm for them, because they began to construct a narrative.
I remember some deputies from the PT, PSOL and PDT taking the floor in the Chamber to say that I was committing a crime against national sovereignty by conspiring, I don't know what, with the Americans.
And then they asked for my passport to be seized.
in an attempt to stop me, to prevent this international work of mine and force me to play only their game inside Brazil.
Because inside Brazil they control everything.
You don't have to look far to see.
The President of the Chamber was openly voicing a more favorable opinion about considering amnesty.
Moraes simply sent his henchmen from the Federal Police to visit President Hugo Mota's father in a total act of cowardice.
Gumoto is a victim in all of this and Alexandre de Moraes, shortly thereafter, held a dinner.
And at that dinner he began mocking me; other press reports say they called me 'bananinha', a coward, etc.
But now the one laughing is me.
Perhaps Alexandre de Moraes is now seeing the 'bananinha' come in a way he doesn't like.
Later on... I had a meeting with U.S. Representative Corey Mills, from Florida, a war veteran, in his first term, someone who has been prominent within the U.S. House of Representatives; it's even said he may run for the Senate in the next election.
And in a conversation with him, I brought up the subject of Brazil.
He became interested and, the following week, he kept his word.
He said he would ask a question during a hearing of Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who is equivalent to our foreign minister, about Brazil.
And he asked about the possibility of sanctioning Moraes.
Marco Rubio then responded saying that yes, there is a great probability that this sanction against Moraes will occur, all related to human rights violations, because it concerns the Magnitsky Act, and also about Alexandre de Moraes' interference in U.S. jurisdiction, because he has already issued arrest warrants against American citizens based on tweets they posted from American soil.
He is preventing the free entry of companies like Rumble and Truth Social into Brazil.
He continues censoring other people who live under U.S. jurisdiction, such as Paulo Figueiredo, Rodrigo Constantino and Alan dos Santos, who lost their social media accounts, had their bank accounts frozen, and so on.
And we also add another element, which is the enemies that Marat has accumulated in the United States.
He detained Jason Miller at a U.S. airport for four hours, without any reason, in 2021.
He banned X from Brazil, Elon Musk's company, and then froze the Starlink accounts.
At that time, one of the people who most criticized Alexandre de Moraes is now one of Trump's main advisers, Stephen Miller.
So, all of this leaves the U.S. government with no choice but to begin using those diplomatic mechanisms and sanctions to try to rein in Alexandre de Moraes' momentum.
