You know that the struggle to end hunger in Brazil is almost a life mission for me, it's a profession of faith.
I dream of creating a campaign of indignation among humanity.
that there are still 733 million people going hungry in the world.
It is a shame for the world's leaders, since the world produces enough food, but people don't have money to access it.
I confess to you that today is a very special day for me.
When I took office in 2003, in my victory celebration speech, I said in plain terms that if, at the end of my term, every Brazilian man or woman was having breakfast, lunch and dinner every day, I would have already fulfilled my life's mission.
And it was with great sadness that I returned to the presidency in 2023.
Fifteen years after I had left the presidency.
And found Brazil with 33 million people going hungry.
And I made the commitment that we would end hunger in Brazil again.
And thanks to God, thanks to the Brazilian people, thanks to Minister Wellington, the people who work with him, thanks to all the ministries that are concerned with combating hunger in Brazil, with many mayors, many governors, we managed to end hunger.
Now a little more effort is needed so that we may have no one.
And I am happy because when you publish the data next year, which only include my mandate 2023, 2024, 2025, I can assure you that the data will be much better.
In this UN assessment, we had to carry over 2022.
Which was a very bad year.
Now, my dear, you can count on me.
Because when we approved at the G20 the Global Alliance against Hunger, which already has more than 100 countries that will participate in this alliance, I want you to know that with or without a presidential mandate, I will be a global soldier.
In the fight against hunger and poverty.
It makes no sense.
Some leaders are spending 2.7 trillion dollars per year on weapons.
And do not spend the same amount on food.
Nor on environmental preservation.
So I want you to know.
That I am a soldier for Brazil.
A soldier of the FAO.
And a global soldier.
To combat hunger in the world.
Thank you very much for the information.

And we will continue working.
