It's a pleasure to have you here on our Conexão GAP to speak with our politically active youth.

You, at only 23 years old, can already consider yourself a political activist, an engaged person.

And I'd like to start by asking what made you, at this age, become so involved in political issues, to the point of influencing the course of our country's politics.
I believe the word is nonconformity.
I felt truly nonconforming about the issues that were happening inside my classroom, in the government.
When we observed the presidential, political debates, and saw that inside my classroom I was truly being suppressed for being right-wing, for being conservative and holding political positions opposite, for example, to the teacher and the school.
So I was genuinely outraged by the situation and saw that something really needed to be changed.
So, from then on, I joined the Movimento Direita Minas, founded by the current deputy Cabo Júnior Amaral.
And since then I have become involved with these issues, especially in the student and doctrinal matters within the schools.

What did you find in the universities—the environment, the political discussion, how things are handled there, even the teachers' approach—how does this work in practice based on your experience?
I studied at PUC for five years, I have a law degree, and during those five years I realized that to suffer prejudice today, all you have to do is say you are a Christian or that you are in Law.
You will suffer prejudice for the rest of your degree.
I perceived an incredibly hostile environment.
Toward those positions.
So, if you are opposed to abortion, if you are in favor of civilian armament, if you are opposed to killing children in the womb, if you are in favor of the traditional family, you will suffer businesswomen inside the classroom.
And this is due to the great dominance of the left within the universities.
Unfortunately, the student enters university thinking the professor has the absolute truth and when he goes into the classroom, the professor, by virtue of his hierarchical opportunity, ends up truly manipulating the minds of all the students, causing there to be only one way of thinking within the classroom.
Today, unfortunately, the university has ceased to be a field of knowledge production and has become one of knowledge reproduction.

DAs, DCEs and such—how did you find that in the university environment?
It's funny because from north to south, east to west in Brazil, you will see that DCEs have a very peculiar characteristic.
They are places that are really taken over by the left, are graffitied, people using drugs inside, because they use that space to publicize and disseminate the truly revolutionary thought of the progressive left.
So, NEAs and DCEs are the central student directories and the academic director, they are made precisely for that, to fund.
Lectures only; they usually say it's a debate.
There is no debate.
And then they bring only two, they bring three people and present it as if it were a debate, but in reality they are two completely identical viewpoints.
One to the left, but the other further to the left.
It's always like that.

And historically, we've seen a strong connection between student movements in Brazil and the left.
