We have just completed a year and a half in office.

When I finished my second term, 14 years ago, the economy was growing at 7.5%.
Job creation, wages and family incomes were rising and inflation was falling.
We took Brazil off the map of hunger.
Since then we have witnessed an enormous destruction of our country.
Important programs for the people.
such as Farmácia Popular and Minha Casa Minha Vida were abandoned.
They cut funding for education, for the SUS and for the environment.
They spread weapons instead of jobs.
They brought hunger back.
They left the highest interest rate in the world. Inflation skyrocketed and reached 8.25%.
Brazil.
It was a country in ruins.
They said they defended the family, but they left millions of families indebted, impoverished and unprotected.
But it is reconstruction and the future that I want to talk about.
Even before we began to govern, we had to find the resources to cover the billion‑dollar hole left by the previous government.
They bet that GDP growth would not exceed 0.8%, but we grew almost 3% last year and we will continue growing.
The minimum wage again rose above inflation. And almost 90% of occupational categories had real wage increases.
We approved pay equality between women and men. More than 2.7 million formal jobs were created. And the unemployment rate is the lowest in the last 10 years.
We exempted from income tax those who earn up to two minimum wages. Twenty-four million people were freed from the nightmare of hunger.
We strengthened the SUS. Farmácia Popular is back and now with new free medicines.
Mais Médicos has practically doubled, with 25,000 doctors serving across the country.
We increased the number of places in daycares, expanded funding for universities and are opening 100 new federal institutes. We launched Pé de Meia, a savings program to give families the certainty that their children will not be forced to leave school to work.
We have already secured one million new places in full‑time education.

Environmental protection has once again become a priority and we have reduced Amazon deforestation by 52%.
