I was very happy to see the way this happened, because lately, every time the big tribunals, the high courts, issue illegal decisions, the reactions are always to cower.
They cower; they're afraid to speak the truth.
And we were truthful the whole time.
We said who Dias Toffoli is, we said why he behaves that way, and even so he backed down.
He backed down because the illegal decision he made would, erga homens, affect all the other campaigns.
When we said that that decision was an attack on democracy, it was.
And it would not stand, as it did not stand.
The one who had to back down was Dias Toffoli, not us.
So, we are establishing a standard here, one that must be maintained not only in our campaign, but also in our term in the presidency of the Republic.

Arbitrary decisions that can undermine the very idea of democracy.
And we cannot accept that.
We cannot accept a regime in which, by personal whims, by desires for power struggles, that which should be strictly... fair, impartial, and objectively focused on the pursuit of truth — the justice system — becomes itself a system of power, of power struggles, and that undermines the confidence citizens have not only in the judiciary but in the Republic itself and in democracy.
The crisis we are going through is a regime crisis.
Our regime, stemming from the Constitution of '88, is collapsing.
Not only because its design is largely flawed, but because the men who occupy positions of power in Brazil are the worst we've ever had.
Dias Toffoli is just another one.
Alexandre de Moraes is another.
And corruptors like Mr. Daniel Vorcaro, who are setting the tone for the downfall of this Republic — these guys have become just the most obvious example of a country that, unfortunately, has been going very wrong.
We are governed today by a President of the Republic who came out of prison.
The former president is also in prison now.
