What did you see, what has changed in Brazil from '89 until now, 2026?

What did you see as different, both in the expectations of the population and in the politics you practiced so diligently in the National Congress and within your party as well?
About: defend private enterprise and property rights as policy principles
Daniela, I can tell you that I participated in the first election in Brazil in '89, when there was that enormous prejudice against free enterprise, the market economy, and the right to property.
About: defend the rights of rural producers
At that time I was the only defender of the rural producer.
At that time the rural producer was not seen as livestock, nor TEC, nor POP.
He was, often, that's right, a demonized figure.
And it was at that moment that I showed, as a physician, a surgeon, with a solid formation in my field, that the country's economy would have agriculture as its backbone.
And I confronted, at that moment, when Lula created the MST, I created the ruralist movement in Brazil so that we could confront it in the constituent assembly, which was the great victory, the UDR.
About: guarantee property rights over agricultural production
We managed to consolidate the right to property on productive lands.
Unfortunately, to this day there are still remnants who insist on breaking the law in Brazil.
But what I want to tell the voter is that in this 37-year period, the PT governed the country for 20 years.
