   The podcast started because it was the pandemic and all my shows got canceled and I had nothing to do. I said, what am I going to do? I'll do something to make use of the time. A podcast, you know? It could have been something else.

   And certainly you brought all that background to be able to conduct those conversations, to understand the importance of the script, of having the right guest, of the communication, of the set layout, of hooking everything up.

   With all the guests, it's really difficult because I'm older — I'm 55 — compared to many in the podcast world. It's hard to have any guest with whom I don't have some kind of relationship; in the middle of the chat I always find some link to something I did or someone we know in common. Everyone, younger or older, I have some link with, because I've worked in so many different things and met so many people. People go, 'man, you worked with so-and-so, that person did this with me,' or 'you know that person, they were at this company, that company sponsored us,' or 'I made a cartoon,' or 'that band — I made a music video, I directed something,' and so on.

   This cultural baggage I have really helps, since I've been working since I was 14. It's very hard for me not to bring that into the conversation.
