You said you have already talked with aides about alternatives, but not about a rupture.
So what were those alternatives?
Look, to get there you have to take a little step back.
I have always been suspicious of the electronic voting machines, since 2012.
It wasn't just recently.
Together with other parliamentarians, like Flávio Dino, Carlos Lupe and about a dozen others.
In 2015, I approved an amendment to an electoral bill, whose rapporteur was Rodrigo Maia, from Rio de Janeiro, bringing in the printed vote.
Then Mrs. Dilma Rousseff vetoed it and we overturned the veto, believe me, with massive support, it wasn't in full, but massive support from the PT.
Shortly thereafter, Minister Fuchs, I don't know what position he held at the TSE, invited me.
I went to speak with him and he began to talk about the measures they were taking to implement the printed vote in 2018.
I was happy, obviously.
He said we could only, given a financial situation and time, make 5% of the polling places have printed votes.
