Sérgio Moro: And, so that we do not lose this battle, we need to protect the agents of the law who take on the risks of carrying out this confrontation, whether they are police officers, whether they are judges, whether they are members of the MPF (Federal Public Ministry), or even public agents from other careers.
Sérgio Moro: Let us take the example of the recent operation carried out against the infiltration of organized crime in the fuel market, in which there were Federal Revenue Service agents and state revenue service agents present.
What we cannot do is put these people on the front line against organized crime and simply leave them afterwards unprotected and without any support.
Sérgio Moro: The Delegate was retired and, because of that condition, did not have the necessary protection.
Sérgio Moro: And here I remind this House of a bill of my authorship, which I presented in 2023, Bill 1,307 of 2023, which I presented also because of my experience of having been threatened by organized crime in retaliation for the work I did as Minister of Justice and Public Security.
