Sérgio Moro: This text went to the Chamber of Deputies and, the week before last, President Hugo Motta scheduled this bill — he was very sensitive to the need to address this issue — and it was approved with slight amendments, but very specific amendments.
Sérgio Moro: And this bill returned to the Senate and, since there is consensus and the amendments are very specific, I make the request — and I had the company of the Leaders — that it be scheduled off the agenda, because this is an urgent matter, Mr. President, and it is a text on which there is consensus.
And there is an increasingly felt yearning among the population for a more appropriate regulation of this matter to address the issue of public security.
Sérgio Moro: And it seems to me that this is a topic entirely appropriate for today’s date, because of the incidents in Rio de Janeiro.
Sérgio Moro: It is true that this matter does not directly address that issue, but it is something that has long been demanded in Parliament.
