Sérgio Moro: The facts still need to be better investigated, but, apparently, a failure by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) led to information about the use of certain products in the production of our country's animal protein not being forwarded in time to that country's sanitary authorities.
Sérgio Moro: The fact is that these exports are being obstructed, and this will cause — until it is reversed — enormous harm to our farmers.
In this context, today's announcement of the Plano Safra is not without positive aspects, but the Plano Safra is insufficient to reverse these losses, not least because it had a very modest increase in the amounts indicated by the Government.
Sérgio Moro: And, with this macroeconomic imbalance caused by the Federal Government's excessive spending in other budget lines, in other areas, interest rates are sky-high, creating difficulties for families, creating difficulties for companies and also creating difficulties for our farmers.
Sérgio Moro: So, the interest rates under the Plano Safra, although lower than those charged in the market, ultimately end up being equally very high, given this macroeconomic imbalance.
