Sérgio Moro: I am a full member of the CCJ. However, recently I changed parties, I joined the PL, and the bloc with which I was affiliated there, certainly by movement of the Lula government, removed me from the CCJ so that I would not participate, so that I could not ask the pertinent and necessary questions to the nominee to the STF (Supreme Federal Tribunal).
Sérgio Moro: This, for me, also reflects an insecurity on the part of the Lula government regarding whether or not there are sufficient votes to approve this name.
It is part of the political game here and also part of the necessary process for us to decide the country's future that the President of the Republic makes his nomination.
Sérgio Moro: And it is indeed for the Senate to normally exercise its authority to approve or reject the name.
Sérgio Moro: This has nothing personal to do with the nominee, Attorney General Jorge Messias.
