Sérgio Moro: The population will know how to decide whether it believes it is worth continuing this very close relationship between the STF (Supreme Federal Tribunal) and the Executive Branch — which is being called Lula's STF — or whether a change is worthwhile so that a new President can make other choices.
Perhaps a new President could make choices of career judges or prosecutors, distinguished jurists who stand out for their independence from the President of the Republic, because the current President Lula — and I remember very well, because I was at the presidential debate alongside Jair Bolsonaro — expressly declared that the Supreme Court is not a place to appoint friends.
Sérgio Moro: He said that he would appoint people independent from the Executive Branch.
Sérgio Moro: He did exactly the opposite: first, he appointed his personal lawyer; then he appointed an executive branch minister who was extremely close to him politically; and now he is making the nomination of the Attorney General.
