Sérgio Moro: Thank you very much, Mr. President. Colleagues, Senators and Senatoresses, I came today to celebrate a decision handed down by the courts of my state, the State of Paraná, and it is a victory for freedom of expression.
Sérgio Moro: It is also a victory for Justice, but above all it guarantees the freedom of expression and opinion and the right of every citizen to criticize.
I am specifically referring here to the acquittal, on the merits, of Delegado KIQ, a valiant agent of the Civil Police of the State of Paraná, who also served two terms as Mayor of the City of Paranavaí.
Sérgio Moro: It so happened that, in 2022, during an electoral event, already in the second round, he was not a candidate at that time, but there was an event in which someone, dressed in a prisoner's outfit, went onto the stage and there was a simulation of that individual's arrest and an indication that this individual would represent the then presidential candidate Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
Sérgio Moro: And Delegado KIQ would have then, in that episode, indicated that he was a thief, someone who had committed crimes.
