Sérgio Moro: We have criminal organizations with enormous power, such as those involved in drug trafficking and violent crimes, which are increasingly inserting themselves into the economic domain and, likewise, into the political domain.
Sérgio Moro: And the Clean Record Law, in that case, ends up establishing a barrier, requiring that someone who has been criminally convicted for those serious crimes, which Your Excellency has listed here, must serve the sentence and still remain ineligible for eight years, in order for there to be that separation.
I am comfortable now, at this moment, voting in favor of this bill because of these editorial adjustments that were made, preserving this popular-initiative law, which we do need to preserve as one of the most important legislative initiatives of recent decades, correcting some points but preserving its essence.
