Kim Kataguiri: I was in Japan in January, together with Deputy Aihara, and had the opportunity to meet my Japanese family in Nagano Prefecture, in the town of Iijima.
Kim Kataguiri: I was able to see the situation. I think one of the main problems Japan faces today is the decline in population.
The economy is in great need of external labor and has difficulty continuing to advance, especially compared with its peers in Asia.
Kim Kataguiri: Brazil is going through difficulties we all know: the rise of our public debt, rising inflation expectations, and structural productivity problems over the last 40 years.
Kim Kataguiri: In that sense, every year I make a point of reinforcing the need to strengthen the partnership between our two countries so that we can move forward.
